Great American Bull Riding heads to Salem

The S&G Rodeo Series Great American Bull Riding is coming to Salem Aug. 26 at the fairgrounds in Salem off Highway 62-412.

Start time for the rodeo is 7 p.m.

Proceeds will go to the Salem High School Senior Lock-in.

There will be added prize money of $500 for the Great American Bull Riding event, with a $200 purse for open barrel racing, and another $200 for team roping.

All points count toward the S&G Series finals.

There will be three levels of bull riding: the GABRA ($500) event, the pro-am and junior bull riding.

There also will be junior and open barrel racing, calf roping, mutton busting, goat tying, chute dogging, bronc riding, donkey derby and ribbon roping.

Sponsors helping with the event include North Arkansas Electric Cooperative, First National Banking Company, Orr Lumber, Salem Fuel Center, Leslie Drug, Fulton County Farm Bureau, Hill's Auto Sales and Areawide Media.

Admission will be $5, with kids under 6 admitted free.
