Thursday, September 28, 2006

Kelley Miller, 28, of Salem is listed in fair condition at Cox Health System in Springfield, Mo., after a two-car collision that took place Sept. 19 in Snow, Ark.

According to the Arkansas State Police, a Nissan ASL driven by Jason Miller, 29, of Salem was struck by a Chevrolet Venture driven by David Cassell, 44, of Yellville. Cassell was traveling east on U.S. Highway 62 when he crossed the center line and traveled approximately 9 feet into the opposing lane before hitting the front passenger side of Miller's vehicle where his wife was seated.

Upon impact, Miller's vehicle spun counterclockwise and traveled approximately 47 feet before coming to rest in the westbound lane.

Kelley Miller, who was the only individual to sustain any serious injuries, was taken by ambulance to BRMC before she was airlifted to Cox Health System.

Traffic was blocked for almost two hours. Trooper Matthew Sheley charged Cassell with driving left of center, DWI 2 and drinking in public.
