Thayer man arrested after marijuana plants found

THAYER -- A Thayer man has been charged with manufacturing more than 35 grams of marijuana.

Thayer Police Chief Frank Bernard said David P. Maddeaux, 27, was arrested June 7 at the Oregon County Sheriff's Office after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On June 2 Thayer Police and deputies with the Oregon County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at 223 North Sixth Street in Thayer and found several marijuana plants growing in the front bedroom. Bernard said the plants weighed 730 grams.

Bernard said they also found a Winchester 30-30 rifle, a Marlin .17-caliber H.M.R. and Jimenez 9mm weapon.

Maddeaux posted a $40,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Oregon County Circuit Court June 27.
