Jesse Aaron Dockins, 20, of Oxford, Ark., son of Timothy Gene and Rhonda Gay (Jeffery) Dockins, was born Jan. 22, 1987, in Batesville. He departed this life on June 13, 2007, at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Ark.

Jesse was a 2005 graduate of the Izard County Consolidated School at Brockwell. He loved playing golf, baseball and basketball. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He never met a stranger. Jesse had a big heart but was also as tough as nails. He was a member of the Oxford Baptist Church and worked as a heavy equipment operator in construction.

Survivors include: his parents, Tim and Rhonda Dockins of Oxford; two brothers, Josh Dockins and fiancé Whitney Silas of Oxford, and Jake Dockins of Oxford; paternal grandparents, Billy and Lena Dockins of Oxford; maternal grandparents, Noel and Linda Jeffery of Melbourne; maternal great-grandfather, Wood-row Cook of Calico Rock; paternal great-grandmother, Faye Sherrell of Oxford; uncle, Greg Jeffery of Little Rock; special friend, Sammi Fowler of Buffalo Island; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandfather, Eldridge Sherrell and maternal great-grandmother, Irene Cook.

Services were June 18 at the ICC School Gymnasium in Brockwell, with Bro. Author Barber, Jerry Jeffery, Joe Hawkins, and Coach David Harmon officiating. Burial followed in the Oxford Cemetery with arrangements by Barker Funeral Home of Salem.

Pallbearers were Brian Tanner, Joe Hawkins, Allen Roberts, Justin Burns, Jerad Everett, Robert Stephens, Jason Sherrell, and Jeremy Tanner. Honorary pallbearers were ICC Class of 2005, Nick Davidson, Chase Moser, Johna-than Quillman, Donnie Gaspard, Willie Jarrett, Billy Jarrett, Clint Everett, and numerous friends and teammates.

Memorials preferred to the Drug and Alcohol Awareness Program of North Central Arkansas being set up at the Bank of Salem.
