Chamber to celebrate Thayer's 125th birthday

THAYER -- The Thayer Chamber of Commerce will celebrate the 125th anniversary of Thayer becoming a town when they hold their annual Chamber of Commerce Banquet June 18.

The banquet will be at 6:30 p.m. at Los Portrillos in Thayer.

All chamber members are urged to go by the Thayer Information Center and Rail Road Museum or Mainprize Chiropractic in Thayer to pick up a Thayer Citizen of the Year application form.

The winner of the Citizen of the Year will be announced at the banquet.

Entertainment at the banquet will be provided by Stephen Wayne Clark from Branson.

Tickets for the banquet can be purchased from any Thayer Chamber member.

Other Chamber of Commerce events includes the annual July 4 Fireworks Show and 125th Celebration of Thayer at the Thayer High School Football Field.

Pyrotechnics for the celebration will be under the direction of Jim Hart.

Booth space for the celebration is $35 and $25 for non-profit groups.

No food venders will be allowed.

There will also be a car show that day in downtown Thayer from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Registration for the car show will start at 9 a.m.
