Hilma "Toots" Hollis, was born the daughter of Rector Dale and Hattie Williams Dale on March 31, 1919, in Bardley, Mo., and died May 27, 2007, at Thayer, Mo., at the age of 88.
She was united in marriage Feb. 7, 1937, at Alton, Mo., to V.E. "Duck"?Hollis who preceded her in death June 5, 1995. She is survived by: three brothers, Willard Dale, Bob Dale and Connie Dale all from near Doniphan, Mo.; a sister, Viola Marley of Doniphan; a host of nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Rector and Hattie Dale; her husband, "Duck"?Hollis; four brothers, William "Bill"?Dale, Gene Dale, Cecil Dale and Howard Dale; four sisters, Wanda Miller, Olive Anderson, Vivian Bryan and Daisy Stafford.
She was a homemaker and employed by Puritan Fashoins in Thayer for many years. She was a switchboard operator, working for the local telephone company in Thayer.
Also, along with her husband, she was a vital part in building, remodeling and selling homes in the Thayer area. She was a faithful member of the Thayer Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held ?May 31 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Robinson officiating. Burial followed in the Thayer Cemetery with arrangements by Carter Funeral Home.
