Leroy Alfred Breeden, of Salem, Ark., son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Louise Mary (Hoeft) Breeden, was born on Sept. 1, 1935, in Union, Mo. He died May 27, 2007, at Muskogee, Okla., at the age of 71.
He was united in marriage to Janie Esther Clouse on Dec 15, 1989, at Texarkana, Ark.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator for a road construction company.
He served his country in the United Sates Navy and United States Air Force during the Korean War and he was of the Christian faith.
He is survived by: his wife, Janie Breeden of Salem; six sons, Bryan Lee Breeden of Union, Mo., Jeffrey Breeden of Union, Mo., Craig Breeden of Clarkston, Mich., Scott Breeden of Beaufort, Mo., Earl Barrett of Ft. Knox, Ky., and Teethon Hunting of England; two daughters, Marcia McKay of Sullivan Mo., and Shanna Breeden of Union; ex-wife, Colette Breeden of Union; two sisters, Doris Jean Ely of Union and Melissa Inman of Union; a special cousin, Billy Machelett of Sullivan, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Travis James Breeden; and a grandson, Tyler Nirer.
Funeral services were held May 31 at the Viola Assembly of God Church in Viola, Ark., with Bro. Allen Cartwright officiating. Burial followed at the Stateline Cemetery at Moko with arrangements under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem,?Ark.
Pallbearers were Bryan Lee Breeden, Jeffrey Breeden, Craig Breeden, Scott Breeden, Michael Rimbey, Earl Barrett and Glenn McKay.
