Gerald Kenneth King, 77, who resided with his wife Marie Arnold Bailey King of Franklin, Ark., died June 18, 2007, at his home in Franklin. He had been a patient in the care of the Izard County Hospice since April 7, 2007.

He was born Sept. 20, 1929, in Uniontown, Pa., the son of the late Mr. and Mr. Robert H. King.

He was a resident of Yuma, Ariz., for the past 51 years and was married to the late Syble King. He served four years in the United States Army and was transferred to the Yuma Proving Grounds Army Base, where he completed his tour of duty. After his time in the service he went to work for the Civil Service at the Marine Base in Yuma where he worked for 30 years. Gerald attended the Emanuel Baptist Church in Yuma, Ariz., and the Assembly of God Church in Horseshoe Bend, Ark.

He is survived by: his wife, Marie King of the home; one son, Jerry and wife Cathy of Yuma, Ariz.; one step-son, Lonnie and wife Patricia Bailey of Ash Flat, Ark.; one daughter, Pam Thompson of Yuma; one step-daughter, Judy and her husband Lyle Sanders of Franklin; one brother, Ted King of Chambersburg, Pa.; one sister, Audrey Barnhart of Hagerstown, Md.; six grandchildren, Jerry King, Justin and his wife Martha King, John King and wife Crystal, Jeff Anderson, Jason Anderson and Jay Thompson; one great-granddaughter Jaylene Ander-son all of Yuma; three step-grandsons, Dustin and wife Melanie Bailey of Louisiana, Nicholas Bailey of Shreveport, La. and Nathan and his wife Amy Sanders of Franklin; one step-granddaughter, Alissa Jarrett; four step-great-grandchildren, Meghan, Hannah, Ethan Bailey of Shreveport, La., and Lillian Sanders of Franklin; several; nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Syble Margaret King; one step-son, Guy Neal Bailey; one step-daughter Sharon Kathy Bailey; two brothers, Paul and Robert King; and one sister, Mary Cocciardo.

A?memorial service was held in the Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel in Ark.

Services were held on June 23 at the Sunset Vista Funeral Home Chapel in Yuma, Ariz. with Rev. Brian Baker officiating.

Interment followed in the Sunset Vista Cemetery with local arrangements under the direction of the Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel.
