Agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) executed search warrants and gathered evidence at Air Evac locations in West Plains and Pomona May 23.
Sources said a Budget Rental truck was used to gather various items including company records as part of the process.
Special agent, Monty Strait of the FBIs Kansas City Division said the action was part of a lengthy investigation conducted by the Bureau stemming from a sealed federal indictment from Missouri's Western Judicial District.
The agent said at this time he was not free to release any information regarding what type of information the Bureau is looking for since the process is connected to a sealed indictment.
Strait did confirm Air Evac was the soul focus of the investigation. He said there was no timetable in completing the review of the items seized.
"It could be a rather long investigation," Strait said. He said the warrants were search warrants and nothing more.
Several attempts were made to talk to officials at Air Evac and no phone calls were returned.
People at the scene said approximately 50 FBI personnel participated in the activity.
An employee of Air Evac said he understood warrants were served at the four Air Evac buildings in West Plains and at the one in Pomona
Air Evacs national headquarters is located on U.S. Highway 63 bypass.
