Wednesday, May 30, 2007

A two-vehicle wreck on Highway 62 near Viola, May 22, resulted in three injured persons, according to the official report issued by the Arkansas State Police.

At 12:43 p.m. Frank Tracz, 85, of Horseshoe Bend was eastbound in his 2003 Dodge Dakota when he crossed the center line and struck a westbound 1999 Ford Taurus, driven by Edward Simmons, 47, of Mammoth Spring in the left rear, said Trooper Ken Foley.

Tracz continued across the opposite lane until he stopped in a ditch on the shoulder of the highway.

Both Tracz and his passenger, Evelyn Tracz were transported to Fulton County Hospital. Evelyn Tracz was treated for minor injuries and released. Tracz was transported to St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Mo.

Though Simmons was not hurt, his passenger Vickie Hambleton of Mammoth Spring did sustain some injuries, Foley said.
