Kurt and Nancy Evans of Hardy, Ark., announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Myranda Lynn Evans to James Michael Hobbs, son of Jerry and Sharon Hobbs of Puxico, Mo., and Donna James of Cherokee Village, Ark.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Otho and Dorothy Evans of Hardy and the late Hubert and Margaret Cypret. The prospective groom is the grandson of Dean and Hasseltine Hobbs of Horseshoe Bend and Ola James of Pocahontas and the late Dewell James.

Myranda is a 2002 graduate of Highland High School and is attending Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. James is a graduate of Oak Ridge Central High School and is currently employed with the Pocahontas Police Department.

The couple will exchange vows at 5 p.m. Sept. 8, at the home of Otho and Dorothy Evans in Hardy. A reception will immediately follow. All friends and relatives are invited to the wedding and reception.
