Jackie Lee Cordray Jr., of Salem, Ark., formerly of Kansas City, Mo., son of Mary Ann (Troya)?Cordray and the late Jackie Lee Cordray Sr., was born Feb. 8, 1954, in Topeka, Kan. He died July 21, 2007, at his home in Salem, at the age of 53.
He was united in marriage to Kathryn Sue Skidmore on July 12, 1974, at Kansas City, Mo. He worked as an assembler for General Motors.?He was baptized in the Catholic Church and then renewed his faith in the Immanuel Southern Baptist Church. Jackie was a past member of the Bricklayer Local 5 in?Kansas City, Mo., and a member of the UAW 31 in Kansas City, Kan. for 21 years. He was a volunteer at the Whatsoever Community Center in Kansas City, Mo.
He is survived by: his wife, Kathryn Cordray of Salem; a son, Cody Jerrod Cordray of Salem; two daughters, Jaclyn Susanne Benson (Richard) of Salem and Callie Elizabeth Cordray of Kansas City, Mo.; his mother, Mary Ann Cordray of Kansas City, Mo.; three grandchildren, Ricco Lee Benson, Jules Allen Benson and Lewis Lee Allman Jr.; his mother-in-law, Evelyn Skid-more of Salem, Ark.; two brothers, Charlie Cordray of Kansas City, Mo. and Paul Cordray (Jodie)?of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Sharon Green (Marcus) of Independence, Mo.; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Cordray Sr.; grandparents, Charles and Florence Cordray and Frank and Teresa Troya; a nephew, Dallas Green; father-in-law, Udell Skidmore; and sister-in-law, Karen Skidmore.
Funeral services were held July 24 at the Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem with Bro. Gary Barker officiating. Burial followed in the Elizabeth Cemetery in Elizabeth, Ark., with arrangements under the direction of Barker Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Charlie Cordray, Paul Cordray, Marcus Green, Richard Benson, Bruce Barker, Luke Barker and Greg Kissinger.
