Samuel E. Cochran, 67, was born Sept. 26, 1939, in Camp, Ark., the son of Arch Cochran and Lora Martin Cochran. He died Jan. 26, 2007, in Springfield, Mo.
He was a retired garment worker and photographer.
He enjoyed the outdoors, both planting and harvesting.
He was a Christian and was of the Free Will Baptist faith.
Survivors include two brothers, Eugene Cochran of Oakley, Calif., and Ollie Cochran of Fairbury, Ill.; three sisters, Eleanora Dodd and husband Ed of Independence, Mo., Sue Poulette and husband Leroy of Thayer, and Carol McGuire of Couch, Mo.; one special sister-in-law, Barbara Cochran of Thayer; 16 nieces and nephews: Sherman and wife Kathy, Dale and wife Barbara, Roger and family, Dennis and wife Genia, Debbie and husband Rusty, Dan and wife Karen, Sam and wife Linda, Debbie and husband Steve, Kimberly and husband Jim, Pamela and husband Danny, George and wife Sharon, Cindy and husband Mike, Jennifer and husband Marc, Jackie and wife Debbie, Linda and husband Steve and Sandy and husband Terry; several great-nieces and nephews; great-great-nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Archie Cochran and Wayne Spoor; one brother-in-law, John McGuire; and two infant sisters.
A memorial service for Samuel Cochran was held on Jan. 29 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Mo., with Rev. Mark Martin and Dennis Poulette officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Carter Funeral Home.
