Tech. Sgt. Stacy Kessler retired recently after 21 years of service. Kessler attended nine years in the Savanna Schools, moved to Salem and spent his last four years in Salem High School, graduating in 1985. In September 1985 he enlisted in the Air Force. Basic training was in Lackland AFB, Texas, with schooling at Sheppard AFB, Texas.
His first duty assignment was to Torrejon AB, Spain, for two years. He then was assigned to two years at Laughlin AFB, Texas, then two years to MacDill AFT, Florida. His next assignment was for a year to Kunsan AB, Republic of Korea. Back to the states his next assignment was to Luke AFB, Arizona, where he spent his next seven years, then another year to Kunsan AB, Korea.
In 2001 Kessler made his final move to Luke AFB, Arizona, where he finished his career and was promoted to technical sergeant. He served as a dock chief, flight chief and production superintendent and honorary ceremony was held at Luke AFB. Kessler, his wife Laura, and two daughters reside in Surprise, Ariz.
