Luther Henry Maguffee of Salem, son of the late James Franklin and Mary Elizabeth (Moss) Maguffee, was born on Dec. 20, 1910, in Salem. He died Dec. 31, 2006, at the Fulton County Nursing Home in Salem at the age of 96.
He was married to Lois Elizabeth Skaggs on July 13, 1940, at Moko, Ark. He worked as a farmer and was a member of the Salem Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include a son, Sonny Maguffee (Roberta) of Salem; two daughters, Betty Dihel of Salem and Kathleen Walling (George) of Salem; five grandchildren, Henry Maguffee (Kathy) of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Calvin Maguffee of Salem, Heather Maguffee of Little Rock, Shawn Walling (Shelly) of Salem, and Shawna Webb (Jeff) of Fayetteville, Ark.; nine great-grandchildren, Caitlin and Luke Maguffee, Caleb, Alexandra, Jacob and Bailey Walling,, Emily and Abby Greer, and Brayden Webb; a brother, Woodrow Maguffee of Richland, Wash.; two sisters, Faye McClain of Earlymark, Calif., and Thelma Haslett of Kennewick, Wash.; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife; two granddaughters, Twylla Greer and Elizabeth Maguffee; his parents; a son-in-law, Bill Dihel; and four brothers, Bynum, Carl, Allen and Troy Maguffee.
Funeral services were held Jan 2 at Barker Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. William Hughart and Bro. John Hodges officiating. Interment was in the Stateline Cemetery at Moko with arrangements under the direction of Barker Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Henry Maguffee, Calvin Maguffee, Shawn Walling, Rick Skaggs, Bill Worsham and Wayne Bishop.
