Helen Sylvia Johnson, 85, a longtime Aberdeen, Wash., resident, died on Dec. 28, 2006. She was born in Ponder, Mo., March 20, 1921, the daughter of the late Grover and Winnie Snodgrass of Bardley, Mo., and into a family of five brothers and five sisters.
On March 9, 1937, she married Ervin E. Johnson in Bardley, Mo.
They moved from Missouri to Aberdeen, Wash., in 1942. They had one son, Jerry E. Johnson who died in 1997.
She once worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" working in the Boeing tail section on the Harbor.
She also worked at Aberdeen Plywood and for many years at St. Joseph Hospital in Aberdeen.
She is survived by two grandsons, Robert and Wes Johnson; three brothers, Gene, Raymond and Don Snodgrass all from Oregon; two sisters, Vivian Masters of St. Louis, Mo., and Norma Mathis of Doniphan, Mo.; two sisters-in-law, Ivy Roberts of Doniphan; and Lillian Snodgrass of Gatewood, Mo.; seven great-great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces; and a very special friend, Dorothy (Dot) Ross.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Ervin, who died in 2004; her son Jerry; her parents; two brothers; and three sisters.
