David T. Skowlund, 84, of Cherokee Village died Dec. 19, 2006, at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem.
Skowlund was born Sept. 2, 1922, in Superior, Wis., the son of Thomas Skowlund and Annabelle (Elliott) Skowlund.
He was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and held an MBA from Kent State in Ohio.
He was united in marriage to Virginia Wright on June 21, 1946, in Akron, Ohio.
He worked for B.F. Goodrich as a chemical engineer before retiring after 38 years of service.
He moved with his wife to Cherokee Village in 1981. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Akron and was a member of the American Philatelic Society.
While in Cherokee Village he belonged to the Men's Golf Association and was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Skowlund of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Georgia and Douglas Stewart of Elkhorn, Wis., and one grandson, John Moore.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
There are no services planned at this time.
