Helen Mae Cowell, 84, of Salem, died Jan. 4, 2007, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem.
She was born Feb. 5, 1922, in Drumright, Okla., daughter of the late Alma Wells Owens.
She was united in marriage to Varion (Chuck) Cowell on Feb. 11, 1961, in Flint, Mich.
She was employed by Michigan Bell for 20 years, and was a member of the Salem Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Chuck Cowell, of the home in Salem; her children, Preston Duane Warden and wife Janet of Searcy, Ark., Joan Balmforth and husband Glenn of Algiers, Mich., and Charles Max Warden and wife Sherrie of Clio, Mich.; her grandchildren; Lora Taylor, Lisa Hall, Mike Taylor, David Warden, Brian Warden, Jill Caudill and Michael Warden; her great-grandchildren, Olivia, Madilynn, Macy, Robert, Gary, Angela Sarah, Rachel, Blake and Melissa; her stepbrother Owen Cherry of Salem; and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother and one stepbrother.
Funeral services were held Jan. 7 at the Salem Church of Christ with burial in the Morriston Cemetery. Arrange-ments were under the direction of the Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
