Ola Lavena Hightower Harper, daughter of the late Alvin Hightower and Grace Campbell Hightower, was born Dec. 9, 1928, in Love, Ark.
She died Dec. 16, 2006, in Batesville, Ark., at the age of 77 years.
She was united in marriage to John Harper and to this union three children were born.
She was a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother.
During her working years, she was employed by Pioneer Nursing and Rehabilitation in Melbourne in the laundry and housekeeping department.
She was of the Assembly of God faith.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Billy and Linda Harper of Los Fresnos, Texas and Troy Harper of Franklin; one daughter and son-in-law, Lois and Jim VanCleave of Franklin; two brothers, John W. Campbell of Myron and John Henry Campbell of Oxford, six grandchildren: Karen Lynn Garcia, Andrea Michelle Meeker, Matthew Lee VanCleave, Amy Rachelle Love Leslie Ellen Beck and Wanda Ranae Harper; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years; two brothers, Gaylon Hightower and Joe Campbell; and two sisters, Jean Ferguson and Alvadene Bullard.
The funeral services were held Dec. 19 at the Franklin Baptist Church with Arthur Barber and Clint Meeker officiating.
Burial followed at Roberts Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeal Home in Melbourne.
Pallbearers were Lindell Tanner, Heath Jones, Blake Love, Billy Beck, Merlin Dry and Josh Newell.
Honorary pallbearers were Kirby Billingsley, Tildon Herron and Dean Batterton.
