Lt. Col. Donna L. Garnett, U.S. Army Reserves, Washington, D.C. has recently deployed to Iraq for a one-year tour of duty. While there, she will be in charge of the upgrade of the communications system for the camp. Garnett is a 1973 graduate of Thayer High School, graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia and obtained a master's degree in computers and information systems from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md. She is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm and a 23-year member of the Armed Forces.
Garnett is married to Col. Albert N. Ward III, U.S. Army (Ret.) She is the daughter of Don and Verna Garnett of Newark, Ark., formerly of Thayer.
