A Mammoth Spring man is in the Sharp County Jail after he allegedly raped a 19-year-old woman.
Justin Davis, 21, is charged with rape, a class Y felony, and second-degree terroristic threatening, a class A misdemeanor. He is being held on a $200,000 cash bond.
The alleged victim said Davis' cousin asked her to go riding around Oct. 28, said Sharp County Det. Mark Counts. She met Davis' cousin near the intersection of Highway 63 and Wirth Road around 9 p.m., he said.
The three went riding around dirt roads in the cousin's truck and drank beer and then picked up another female before traveling to the cousin's home near Hardy, Counts said.
Once at the home, the cousin went upstairs and fell asleep on the couch while the 19-year-old woman went downstairs to sleep in the cousin's room, Counts said.
She awoke around 6 a.m. the next day partially undressed, with Davis lying beside her, Counts said. Davis then raped her while holding her down, Counts said.
About 10 minutes later Davis allowed her to get up, Counts said. She ran upstairs and woke the cousin who took her to her vehicle, he said.
She later called Sgt. Stan Haney who told her to go to the hospital and have a rape kit done, Counts said.
After speaking with Counts at the hospital, the woman came into his office the next day and played a threatening voicemail Davis had left on her cell phone, he said.
Officers searched the home where the rape allegedly took place and seized bedding, Counts said.
