MAMMOTH SPRING -- The Mammoth Spring City Council reviewed copies of the 2007 city budget by Mayor Jean Pace at the Nov. 6 city council meeting.
Arkansas state law requires that all city budgets be prepared and presented by Dec. 1.
The Mammoth Spring budget for 2007 was presented at $613,800. Last year's city budget was $593,300.
She said the council will vote on the new budget after the first of the year.
Thayer resident Charles Mccullough was at the meeting to ask for a waterline extension on Fairview Road out of the city limits. McCullough is developing land on Fairview Road. He told the council he would pay the engineering fee and materials for the line extension project. The council approved the request.
Pace said once the land is developed, when a person buys a lot in the development they will be responsible for paying the hook-up fee.
In other city council business, the council voted to amend the use for some of the city's Industrial Park property.
When the park first opened in 1981, the ball parks at the park were designated for use only by the local little league teams. The council voted to allow school and community teams to now use the ball fields.
