Shirley Bray Mooney, 67, of Cherokee Village, died Nov. 7, 2006 at Saint Lukes Hospital in Boise, Idaho, following a brief illness.
She was born in Caraway, Ark. She was a school teacher in Caraway and also in Artesia, N.M., until she retired in 1994 and moved to Cherokee Village.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Mooney of the home; three children, Rhonda Mooney of Cherokee Village, Gerald Mooney of Springfield, Mo. and Pam Whitehead of Abilene, Texas; one brother, Mickey Bray of Jonesboro; six grandchildren, Terah Ward of Anson, Texas, Trey Whitehead of Abilene, Texas, Dallas Mooney of Springfield, Mo., Angeleen Mooney of Albuquerque, N.M., Jarad and Brandon Peeler of Jonesboro; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, "Mutt" and Thelma Bray and one sister Linda McFarlin Houchin.
A memorial service will be held Nov. 18 at the Ash Flat Church of Christ. A visitation celebration of her life will begin at 10 a.m. with the memorial service beginning at 11 a.m. Following the service a pot luck will be provided by the congregation of the Ash Flat Church of Christ. All family and friends are welcomed to stay for fellowship and celebration of her life.
