Arthur Henry Collins, 78, of Decatur, Ill., died Nov. 3, 2006, at the VA Illiana Health Care System in Danville, Ill.
He was born July 29, 1928, at Hardy, the son of Ira Luther and Lydia Alice Bell (Wrighenour) Collins.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, retired from Wagner Castings Company in Decatur and was a member of the Salem Baptist Church in Decatur.
Survivors include his wife, Millie Collins of the home; two sons, Michael Collins and Wayne Collins, both of Decatur; five daughters, Marsha Gallager of Champaign, Ill., Rebecca Raymer of Joelton, Tenn., Janet Orr of Brighton, Ill., Teresa Elmendorf of Wood River, Ill., and Vickie Castlemen of Moweaqua, Ill. 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Evelyn Collins; two brothers, Ira Collins and Loyd Collins; and two sisters, Laura Bell Marshall and Cora Mae Jones.
The funeral services were held Nov. 7 at Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Bro. Randy Scott officiating. Burial followed in the Collins Cemetery located near Wirth with arrangements under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City, Ark.
Pallbearers were Jeremy Raymer, Nathaniel Raymer, Adam Raymer, Andrew Raymer, Brian Collins, John Elmendorf, Chuck Castlemen and Larry Daughtery.
