James Michael Mullen, age 48, of the Hilltop community near Cave City died Nov. 10, 2006, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Little Rock.

He was born March 6, 1958, at Batesville the son of O.C. and Jo Mullen. He was a 1976 graduate of Cave City High School, a 1983 graduate of Garland County College in Hot Springs with an associate of business degree.

He was a Master Mason and past master of Curia Lodge 144 and served as secretary treasurer for many years. He served many years as a volunteer for the White River Medical Center and Cave City Elementary School. He was a member of the Mount View Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his father, O.C. Mullen of the home; two sisters, Judy Walling and Penny Snyder both of Cave City; five nephews, Eddie Walling, Nathan Walling, Matt Snyder, David Snyder and Joseph Snyder, all of Cave City, two nieces, Bobbi Lee Walling and Bethany Snyder, both of Cave City; and one great-nephew, Seth Michael Walling and a other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jo Mullen.

The funeral services were held Nov. 12 at the Mount View Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Dennis Gay officiating. Burial followed in the Mount View Cemetery east of Cave City with arrangements under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City, Ark.

Pallbearers were Danny Watson, Eddie Walling, Nathan Walling, Matt Snyder, David Snyder and Joseph Snyder.

Honorary pallbearers were Bobbi Lee Walling, Bethany Snyder, Austin Rowlett, Tom Penn and the men of Curia Lodge 144.
