Lillie Marie Hoyt, a retired cosmetologist, died Aug. 28. 2006, in Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, Mo.
She was born Aug. 17, 1923, in Alton, Mo., to Arthur Nickless and Pearl Hays Nickless.
She was united in marriage May 27, 1939, in Salem, Ark., to David Hoyt who preceded her in death Jan. 1, 1967.
She was an award winning quilter. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include one son, Harley Ray Hoyt and wife Barbara of Naples, Fla.; one daughter, Elizabeth Susan Van Camp and husband Andrew of Bourbon, Mo.; two grandsons, James E. Hoyt and John P. Hoyt, both of St. Louis; one great-grandson, Steven Hoyt of St. Louis; three sisters, Irene Allen of Waynesville, Mo., Marjorie Diles of Metropolis, Ill., and Geraldine Holmes of Alton; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Hope Combs and Thelma Hoyt of Thayer; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Curtis David Hoyt; one great-granddaughter, Danielle Hoyt; one brother, Oliver Nickless; and one sister, Maxine Key.
The funeral services were held Sept. 1 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Rev. Keith Combs officiating.
Burial followed in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
