Flossie York, a homemaker, died July 7, 2006, at her home in Thayer at the age of 69.
She was born March 5, 1937, in Alton, Mo., the daughter of the late Graydon and Nora (Miller) Blankenship.
She was united in marriage Nov. 17, 1954, in Thayer to Pressley Mitchell York.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Vivian Johnson and two infant brothers and two infant sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Mitchell of the home in Thayer; one son, Scott York and wife, Stacie of Thayer; two special grandchildren, Taylor and Hunter of Thayer; two sisters, Winona Rogers and husband, Leon of Lawson, Mo., and Jerry Corp of West Plains, Mo.; two sisters-in-law, Emma Jean Jeffries of St. Charles Mo. and Sue York of Imperial, Mo.; a special cousin, Kathleen Rogers of Koshkonong, Mo.; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was of the Freewill Baptist Faith and attended Thayer Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held July 10 at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Rev. Richard Robinson officiating. Burial followed in Norman Cemetery near Thayer with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home Inc. in Thayer.
Pallbearers were Greg Rogers, David Taylor, Glenn Taylor, Lynn Jeffries, Jerry Jeffries and Todd York.
