The Spring River Art Gallery in Hardy will feature the works of artist Pat McCarroll during the month of September.
Growing up in Arkansas, McCarroll developed an interest in art as a child. She minored in art while obtaining a degree in education. After a teaching career, she has returned to art. She has studied with Shelia Parsons, Ophelia Middlebrooks, Sharon Simmons and others.
Her favorite subjects are found in the natural settings of the Ozarks. She also enjoys painting studies of children. Watercolor is her favorite medium, but she ventures into other media as well. She has won several awards for her work in area competitions.
McCarroll lives in Cherokee Village. She will be one of the exhibiting artists in the upcoming Art Fair at Ozarka College in Ash Flat, Sept. 16. Her work may be seen there and at the Spring River Art Gallery in downtown Hardy. Gallery hours are noon to 4 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 1-4 p.m. Sundays. The phone number is 870-856-2507.
