Fuller named top art teacher

Thursday, November 2, 2006

The Arkansas Art Educators, an affiliate of the National Art Education Association, will recognize several art educators from across the state. Missy Fuller of Highland High School will be awarded the 2006 Arkansas Secondary Art Educator of the Year.

The presentation of the awards will take place during the awards luncheon of the Arkansas Art Educators fall conference at the Wyndham Hotel in North Little Rock Nov. 3.

The Arkansas Art Educators, an affiliate of the National Art Education Association, each year recognizes art educators and those who contribute to art education programs across the state. The recipients of recognition are those who demonstrate outstanding commitment and dedication to the education of students in the visual arts; provide instruction or support in a creative and enthusiastic manner; contribute personal effort beyond their normal teaching duties in promoting art education by developing positive public relations and advocacy in the community, region, state or nation; and display unique qualities that set them apart as outstanding educators.
