Marjorie Crete Smith, 80, died April 4, 2006, at West Vue Home in West Plains, Mo.
She was born June 2, 1925, in Fryatt, Ark., the daughter of the late Benjamin B. and Crete Johnson McDonald.
She was united in marriage July 18, 1947, in Salem, Ark., to Basil Smith who preceded her in death Jan. 16, 1989.
She was a homemaker and was employed by Puritan Fashions for several years.
She was of the Presbyterian faith.
Survivors include three sons, Kenneth Smith and wife, Brenda, of Thayer, Keith Smith and wife, Debbie, of Thayer and Jimmy Smith of Mammoth Spring; seven grandchildren, J.J. Collins, Christopher Smith, Phillip Smith, Nathan and Celena Russell, Brian Smith and Jessica Smith; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Richard Benny Smith; one granddaughter, Jennifer Collins; one brother, Austin McDonald; and six sisters, Lorene Ladd, Thelma Carter, Enid Holloway, Inez Coffenbury, Alta Werbe and Opal Komm.
The graveside services were held April 7 at the Moten Cemetery near Mammoth Spring with the Rev. Richard Robinson officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
Pallbearers were Andy Wood, Jack Haney, Lanis Nicholson, Charles Willett, Tom Frey and Mike Davis.
