Davie Mae Sifford, 87, of alton was born March 29, 1919, in Oregon County and died March 29, 2006, at Shepherds View Residential Care in Alton.
Sifford loved her family, had the greatest laugh, was gentle, kind spirited and enjoyed children. She loved family gatherings, traveling and flea markets. She worked in a Crystals Factory in Kansas City, Kan., and was of the Church of Christ faith.
Survivors include one grandson, Scott Allen McLeland and wife Sue of Phoenix, Aiz.; two great-grandchildren, Devon and Sawyer McLeland of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Callie Chronister of Alton and Nellie Miner of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister-in-law, Ila Pingleton of Thayer; one brother-in-law, Granville Chronister of Alton; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Jefferson Pingleton and Bessie Louise Cox-Pingleton; her husband, Ralph Olen Sifford; one daughter, Emma Sue McLeland Walker; two sons-in-law, Jim McLeland and Jerry Walker one sister, Daisy; two brothers, Howard and Noel; three brothers-in-law, Lilburn Bell, Rayburn Sifford and Joe Miner; two sisters-in-law, Louis Sifford and Grace Pingleton; five nephews, Bruce, Ricky, Max, Mike and Howard; and one nephew-in-law, Lonnie York.
The funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. May 1 in the Clary Chapel in Alton, Mo., with Bro. Greg Bridges officiating.
Interment will be in the Hickory Grove Cemetery.
The funeral arrangments are under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Alton.
