Folk dancing class set at Ozarka College

Thursday, October 5, 2006

The Continuing Education Department at Ozarka College in Melbourne is offering a unique fitness and learning experience through an International Folk Dancing Course.

This six-week class is set to begin Oct. 16 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and continue every Monday evening at that time through Nov. 20. The class will take place on the stage of the John E. Miller Auditorium on the Melbourne campus at Ozarka.

The instructor for the class, Tricia Nelson said, "The United States is a cultural melting pot from many other countries around the world, and students who enroll in this class will have fun learning dances from some of those other countries." She added that folk dancing is a great form of exercise and no dance experience or partner is needed for the course.

Cost for the class is $45. Participants will need to wear comfortable, non-marking shoes.

Call Kim Lovelace at 870-368-7371 to pre-register for the class.
