OREGON COUNTY -- Two Alton teenagers were injured when they were thrown from the bed of a pickup truck July 29.
The accident occurred at 5:56 p.m. on P Highway, one-half mile west of Alton.
Trooper J.C. Howell said a 1978 Chevrolet truck driven by Jeffrey McMaster-Englehardt II, 18, of Ava ran off the road, struck an approach and went airborne. The truck then overturned several times and landed in the middle of the road.
Dereck L. Ficken, 15, of Alton and Scott Davis, 15, also of Alton, were both thrown from the bed of the truck.
Both teenagers were trabsported by ambulance to Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains were they were treated for moderate injuries and released.
McMaster-Englehardt was issued a ticket for careless and imprudent driving.
In a separate accident, Rosalind M. Cornilsen, 30, of Alton received moderate injuries in a two-vehicle accident.
Trooper J.D. Wheeler said the accident occurred at 11:32 a.m. July 31 on County Road 9720, 10 miles south of West Plains.
Wheeler said Cornilsen's 1999 Toyota entered a curve traveling partially on the wrong side of the road and struck a 2003 Ford Explorer driven by Elizabeth A. Chaplin, 16, of West Plains.
Cornilsen was transported by ambulance to Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains where she was treated for her injuries.
She was issued a ticket for failure to drive on the right side of the road.
