Doyle E. Harmon, 85, of Highland, Ark., died May 19, 2008, at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Ark. He was born Aug. 25, 1922, the son of the late Walter and Susie (Rifensch-nieder) Harmon.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, and served during World War II and received a Purple Heart.
He was the founder and operator of Harmondo's Pizza in Highland, and worked there until retirement.
He was a member of the Spring River Car Club and the Arkansas Antique Car Club in Jonesboro.
He was a member of the Spring River Baptist Church in Hardy.
He is survived by: his wife, Mary Harmon of the home; two sons, Richard and Bonnie Harmon of Cherokee Village and Thomas Harmon of Mans-field, Ohio; one sister, Josephine Harmon of Ohio; three grandchildren, Melanie Petrusson, Jessica Harmon and Ryan Harmon; one great-grandson; five step-children, Carol, Bob, Sharon, Jerry and Teresa; ten step-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his first wife, Grace Harmon; and an infant daughter.
Funeral services and burial will be held in New Philadel-phia, Ohio, at a later date to be announced. Arrangements are under the direction of the Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland, Ark.
