"There was a need for new computers in the addition at the hospital and so, after the political rally, the Fulton County Hospital Foundation Board voted to provide the hospital with four new computer systems for the admissions area of the new construction," Trena Spears with the foundation said.
"They need a total of 15 computers and our goal is to be able to provide them with the additional computers with the funds we will receive from the donations given for the rooms," Spears said.
The board is accepting donations for rooms and different areas of the hospital to support foundation efforts. A plaque will be displayed saying the room was given in honor of the donor. "Really, whatever a person wants it to say," Spears said.
"The waiting room and the dietary room is a $2,500 donation. The clinical room is a $1,000 donation. The $500 rooms are non-clinical, such as the business office, admissions, medical records, that sort of thing," Spears said.
There will also be a Wall of Fame with gold ($250), silver ($100) and bronze ($50) sponsorships. "Proceeds from these room sales go to benefit the hospital by providing equipment such as computers and chairs," Spears said.
The foundation donated several chairs to the hospital for use in patient rooms and Spears said they would like to complete the endeavor.
Spears said to date, room donations have raised around $5,500 for the foundation.
