Dorothy Niemeyer, 72, of Smithville, Ark., died May 27, 2008, at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. She was born July 8, 1935, at Prescott, Ark., the daughter of Oscar and Grace Stivers.
She was a homemaker, active in the Sharp County Extension Homemakers, a member of the Fit and Sew Club in Cave City, a master clothier and enjoyed clogging.
Survivors include: two sons, Edward Niemeyer of Wichita, Kan., and Fredrick Niemeyer of Jonesboro; two daughters, Debra Caughron of Big Sandy, Texas and Rhonda Niemeyer of Cushman; one brother, Jody Stivers of Prescott; three sisters, Mary Lavonne Stivers and Opal Wooley both of Houston, Texas and Judy Parnell of Pensacola, Fla.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Freddie Niemeyer; one brother, Theodore Stivers; and one sister, Betty Niemeyer.
A visitation was held May 31. No other services are planned. Arrangements were by the Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
