Wilma Arlena Hamilton, 86, of Cherokee Village, Ark., died May 19, 2008, at the White River Medical Center in Batesville, Ark. She was born March 4, 1922, in Eldon, Iowa, the daughter of the late Carl and Frances (Hughes) Stroud.
She was united in marriage to Jay Hamilton in 1939. She moved to Cherokee Village 24 years ago from Eldon, Iowa. She was of the Protestant faith and was a member of the Living Hope Bible Church in Eldon, Iowa.
She is survived by: one son and his wife, Vic and Janice Hamilton; one daughter and husband, Linda and Bill Hamilton; one sister, Pauline Fligg and husband, Harold of Eldon, Iowa; grandchildren, Lisa Hamilton and husband, Trevor Frost, Nina Whitlow and husband, Robert, Russ Hamilton and wife, Annie, DeAnn Hamilton and Michelle McClead and husband, Michael; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; several nieces; nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Jay; and one grandson, Joel Hamilton.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Eldon, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of the Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Living Hope Bible Church in Eldon, Iowa.
