Maude Cummings Justice, 103, of Osceola, Ark., died May 27, 2008, at an Osceola nursing home. She was born March 11, 1905 in Batesville, Ark., the daughter of the late Joe and Amanda Cummings.
She was a farm laborer and homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith.
She is survived by: three daughters, Lucille Faulken-berry and Bernice Johnson, both of Osceola and Jo Ann Pace of Cave City; one son, James O'Neal Justice of Sidney, Ark.; one sister, Lena Dunegan of Osceola; 210 grandchildren which includes great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, James Edward Justice; two sons, Junior Edward Justice and Eugene Justice; one daughter, Pauline Bryant; four sisters, Stella Palmer, Fan Neiman, Emma Finley and Bette Cummings; six brothers, Jim Cummings, John Cummings, Bill Cummings, Charlie Cummings, Edgar Cummings and her twin brother, Aud Cummings; and some great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held May 30 at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Bro. Cliff Liles and Bro. Donald Finely officiating. Burial followed in the Weaver's Chapel Cemetery located north of Batesville with arrangements under the direction of the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Charles Hayslip, Levon Hayslip, James Faulkenberry, Jerry Faulkenberry, Henry Farris, Joe Johnson, Jesse Justice and Terry Justice.
Honorary pallbearers were her grandsons, Larry Jones, Herbie Farris, Golden Pace Jr., Gary Pace, Melvin Johnson, Carl Justice, O'Neal Justice and Nathan Justice.
