Wallace "Wally" Le-Roy Curtis, 80, of Cherokee Village, Ark., formerly of Cave City, Ark., died May 28, 2008, at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. He was born Jan. 14, 1928, the son of William Asa and Ruth Taylor Curtis in Milan, Ill.
He joined the United States Navy and served during the last part of World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War as a medical corpsman. He retired in 1972 from the Navy after 24 years. He attended the Cave City First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Norma Curtis of the home; one sister, Betty Eckhardt of Aledo, Ill.; two step-sons, Richard Ewing of Austin, Texas, and Brian Ewing of Williford, Ark.; two step-daughters, Dawn Bruni of Batesville and Karen Stark of Hardy; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at a later date with arrangements under the direction of Roller Crouch-McGee Funeral Home of Cave City.
