Betty Varnelle Wiles, 63, of Springfield, Mo., died May 25, 2008. She was born in Batesville, Ark., on Oct. 21, 1944, the daughter of Otis and Vernus (Hutson) Wiles.
She was the granddaughter of Albert "Rusty" and Ollie (Dillard Hutson and William and Martha (Rogers) Wiles. A member of the Ash Flat United Methodist Church, Betty lived most of her life with her parents. In 2002, she moved to Springfield, where she lived with her brother and family. She spent many happy days at Daybreak Adult Daycare Center.
She is survived by: her father of Springfield; her brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Marsha Wiles; along with a niece and nephew.
She is preceded in death by: her mother; and her grandparents.
Funeral services were held May 29 in the Ash Flat United Methodist Church with arrangements under the direction of Highland's Tri-County Funeral Home with Larry Morris, Johnny Carter and Larry Wiles officiating. Burial followed in the Wiles Cemetery in Ash Flat.
Pallbearers were Charlie Johnson, Ed Ericson, Joe Cotham, Malcolm Long, Wayne Long and Johnny Ray Hyslip.
Honorary pallbearers included Dean Himschoot, Doyle Collins, Jack Richardson and Bill Horton.
