Elton Alfred Ginn, 94, of Horseshoe Bend, Ark., son of the late Glenn and Lottie Mae (Rhoad) Ginn was born Sept. 6, 1913, in Appleton City, Mo. He died June 16, 2008, at the North Arkansas Life Care Center in Horseshoe Bend.
He was united in marriage to Melba Lorene Leech on May 28, 1938, at Gallaton, Mo. He worked as a school teacher and was a member of the Horseshoe Bend First Baptist Church.
He is survived by: his wife, Lorene Ginn of Horseshoe Bend; a son, Roger Ginn and wife, Carol of Rockford, Ill.; two daughters, Ellen Long of Rockford and Karen Corcoran and husband, Gary of Rockford; two sisters, Maxine Wiseman of Shawnee, Kan., and Glenadyne Haley of Osawatamie, Kan.; eight grandchildren, Mark and Rick Sotor, Dana Dale, Brian Ginn, Matt Graceffa, Heather Daeger, Angela Tsiganos and Toni Smith; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; a son, Keith Ginn; a daughter, June Sotor; and a brother, Willis Ginn.
Funeral services were held June 5 at the Horseshoe Bend First Baptist Church with Bro. Eric Earle officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Barker's Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel in Horseshoe Bend.
