A Cave City man sustained minor injuries when he attempted to stop his motorcycle during a routine traffic stop June 6.
Trooper Jeremy Connor of the Arkansas State Police was traveling east on Highway 115 outside of Cave City when he met a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed, said Trooper Ben Rapert. The motorcycle was driven by Kenneth Bramlett, 42, of Cave City, he said.
Connor turned on the lights on his patrol car and turned around to conduct a traffic stop, Rapert said. Bramlett applied the brakes on the motorcycle to stop; however the brakes locked and Bramlett lost control and the motorcycle slid across the highway approximately 250 feet before it came to rest, Rapert said. Bramlett was thrown from the motorcycle, he said. Bramlett was not wearing a helmet.
Bramlett suffered a few scratches and bruises and was transported to White River Medical Center in Batesville by ambulance, Rapert said.
Bramlett was cited for careless and prohibitive driving. He had no passengers.
