Weekly race events drew 72 race teams to the annual South Howell County Ambulance Service sponsored program at West Plains Motor Speedway June 14.
Great weather and clear skies greeted fans and racers after a round of heavy weather passed through the area the evening before.
The IMCA Modified feature event was plagued by cautions at the onset of the event, but Rustin Miller of Houston emerged with the checkered flag, making his first appearance this season on Victory Lane.
Taking second was Scott Crigler of Alton, followed by Tony Anglin of Walnut Ridge, Danny Peterson of West Plains, Fred Scarbrough of Koshkonong, Shawn Walsh of Ash Flat, Austin Smith of Mammoth Spring, Chris Skinner of Moody, and Matt Barry and Jason Brigman of West Plains.
Stan Ellison of West Plans won the Super Stock feature with Shawn Walsh of Ash Flat taking second, followed by Bobby Bryant of West Plains, Dee Kelly of Birch Tree, Clint Seamans of Imboden, Derald Kelly of Birch Tree, Andy Collins of West Plains, Jeff North of Rogersville, Kevin Collins of West Plains and Carmon Vincent of Moody.
John Stiner of West Plains won the Hobby Stock feature with Dexter Frost coming in second, followed by Brock Frost of Birch Tree, Jessie Shearin of West Plains, Robert Williams of Van Buren, Shane Hitt and William Piper, both of Birch Tree, Larry Duke, David Medlock, Kevin Collins and Randy Rader, all of West Plains, and Ray Flippin of Flippin.
Making it two in a row was Clifford Collins II of West Plains, when he won the Cruiser feature. Giving him a strong race was Tyler Newcom of Hardy, followed by Bill Harden, Rhonda Gunter, Ray Fuselier and Doug Lambert, all of West Plains, Sissy Ratliff-Seamans of Imboden, and Les Snyder of Birch Tree.
Putting another notch in his winner's belt was Ben Piper of West Plains, as he scored another Youth Hobby Stock feature win this week. Taking second was Kyle Duke of West Plains, with Kevin May of Pomona, making his first appearance on Victory Lane with a third-place finish.
KHOM and The Point will be sponsoring the full weekly points program June 21, along with the Show-Me Racin' Series Late Models.
Gates will open at 5 p.m., with hotlaps at 6:30 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m.
Adult admission is $15, kids 7-11 $4, and those 6-and-under are always free.
