Carma Shirlene Raker was born the daughter of Verdis W. Hall and Doris E. Bland Hall on May 17, 1939, in Mammoth Spring, Ark., and died June 15, 2008, in Mountain Home, Ark., at the age of 69.
She was united in marriage Aug. 8, 1957, at Mammoth Spring, Ark., to Hurley Cowen.
She was united in marriage Feb. 14, 1978, at Mammoth Spring, Ark., to Marvin Leroy Raker, who preceded her in death in 1994.
She was employed in the housekeeping department of the Good Samaritan Nursing Home for 15 years.
She was also a volunteer for Project Love in Mountain Home, Ark.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by: one son, Randy Cowen and wife, Stacey of Koshkonong, Mo.; one daughter, Shelley Carter of Mountain Home, Ark.; six grandchildren, Amanda Owens and husband, Carroll of Cabot, Ark., Derek Cowen and wife, Beth of Belleville, Ill., Brittany Hunter and husband, Carl of Alliance, Neb., Jessica Deckard of College Station, Texas, Jennifer Carter of Jonesboro, Ark., and Chance Elliott of Mountain Home, Ark.; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Don Hall of Mammoth Spring; one sister, Verlene Underwood of Thayer, Mo.; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Leroy Raker; her parents, Verdis and Doris Hall; and two daughters, Linda Collins and Karen Cowen.
Funeral services were held on June 19 in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel at Thayer, Mo., with Bro. Richard Robinson and Bro. Andy Rains officiating.
Burial followed in the Moten Cemetery near Mammoth Spring with arrangements under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
Pallbearers were Carroll Owens, Bobby Ball, Steve Underwood, Michael Under-wood, Derek Cowen, Ray Ramon and Sidney Dailey.
Honorary pallbearer was Rosoe Vaughn.
