Wilburn Ray King, of Viola, Ark., son of the late George Wilman King and Frankie Satterfield King, was born April 16, 1933, in Swifton, Ark. He died June 17, 2008, at Community Medical Center of Calico Rock at the age of 75.
He was united in marriage to Sandra L. Pennell July 1, 1960, in Lansing, Mich.
He was employed by Spartan Asphalt Company in Holt, Mich., as a crew foreman for many years. He was also employed by King Asphalt Company in Thayer Mo., as a roller man. He was Jehovah's Witness and attended the Kingdom Hall at Salem.
Survivors include: his wife, Sandra King of the family home; his children, Deborah Ann Conrad and husband Thomas of Ward, Rollin (Ronnie) King and wife, Diana of Glencoe and Katherine (Katy) LaFleur and husband, Timothy of Viola; his sister, Dona Mae Vickers of Mammoth Spring; brothers, George Willis King of El Paso, Ark., Carl Lee King of Thayer, Mo., and David Austin King of Myrtle, Mo.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; many nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: two brothers, Dennis King and one who died in infancy; one sister, Eva Alene Launer; a grandson, Jedadiah LaFleur; and his father and mother.
Funeral services were held June 24 at Cox-Blevins Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Liberty Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
