Georgia Lee Cochran, of Salem, Ark., daughter of the late Georgte William Parks and Ruth E. Stuart Parks Crain, was born July 26, 1936, in Fairview, Ark. She died June 13, 2008, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem at the age of 71.
She was united in marriage to Charles Cochran June 28, 1954, in Salem. To this union three children were born. She was employed by the Salem Public School System as the Elementary school secretary for over 20 years, retiring in 1996. She was a member of the Church of Christ and attended services at Salem.
Survivors include: her husband, Charles of the family home near Salem; her children, Bruce Cochran and wife, Liz, of Little Rock, Cathy Manes and husband, Steve, of Salem, and Barry Cochran and special son, Donald Dance of Jonesboro; her sisters, Vondera Keylon and husband, Leon of Mammoth Spring, Buna Rhea Estes of Salem, Faye Warden of Oxford and Cecile Brewer and husband, Paul, of Thayer, Mo.; three grandchildren, George Manes, Rachel Manes and Cassidy Dance Cochran; special friends, Pat and Danny Russell of Brookland and Donna Little of Horseshoe Lake; nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: three half brothers, two half sisters and her father and mother.
Funeral services were held June 18 at the Salem Church of Christ with Mike Yates officiating. Burial was in the Byron Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
Pallbearers were Gordon Barnett, Paul Clayton, Burnell Montgomery, Gerald Daniels, John Ed Isbell and Doyle York.
