Bad Boy Lawn Mowers and Cooper's Hawk Golf Course are bringing professional golf to Melbourne July 7-11.

The Good Ole Boys Senior Tour event is a professional tournament featuring current, former and future PGA golfers 48-years-old and older.

Leading the list of notables on the Good Ole Boys Tour is the charismatic legendary professional golfer Rocky Thompson.

The Good Ole Boys Tour was formed for those golfers preparing for the Senior PGA Tour, and includes other notables such as Bobby Wilson, national long drive champion; Tony Peterson; tour champion David Ogrin; Hall of Fame bowler Jim Stefanich; baseball pitcher Ralph Terry; and defending champion Johnny Ross.

The event at Cooper's Hawk will begin with a practice round on July 7, a Pro-Am tournament on July 8, and then will finish with individual stroke play July 9-11.

Approximately 120 competitors will be vying for a $50,000 purse.

Tony Peterson, professional golfer and Good Ole Boys Tour founder, visited Cooper's Hawk in April. "This course is perfect for our tour and we expect this to be the biggest event of the year, outside the PGA Senior Tour," he said. "Our guys are excited about coming to Melbourne."

Along with the event will be a Pro-Am day in which local amateur golfers will be able to play alongside the touring pros. National Long Drive Champion Bobby Wilson will hold a clinic during the Pro-Am session. Bad Boy Mowers will also be conducting their spokesperson search during the Pro-Am contest. These beautiful ladies will be competing to become the face of Bad Boy Mowers for one year.

Corporate sponsorships are available. Admission is free.

The tour also will accept a number of local entries for their tournament as long as you are at least 48 years old. Amateurs may compete but should sign a waiver of prize money in order to retain their amateur status. There is no age limit for those wishing to participate in the Pro-Am.
