I used to live in S.E. Kansas as a boy and my Dad took me to a Hootenanny once, which I thought was held in Thayer. Is that anything like the Homesteader Day?

If they still have a Hootenanny, where and when is it? I recall it was pickers from all over, who would get together and take turns playing Bluegrass/Mountain Music which I enjoy.

Thank you,
