Carrie Alice Pepper, 95, of Mammoth Spring, Ark., was born Feb. 23, 1913, in Camp, Ark., and died June 21, 2008, at the Shady Oaks Healthcare Center, Thayer, Mo.
Carrie worked at the Gooseneck Café, cleaned houses and every kind of work she could to keep her family together after her husband Phillip died in 1964. She attended the Field Creek Church where she played the piano until the spring of 2008.
Survivors include: three sons, Dale Pepper of Mammoth Spring, Ark., David Pepper and wife Eudola of Dover, Ark., Doyle Pepper and wife Carolyn of Topeka, Kan.; two daughters, Fran Clark of Rockford, Ill., Margaret Ritchie and husband Bill of Kansas City, Mo.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Preceding her in death were: her parents, Drew Reeves and Molly Tadlok Reeves; her husband, Phillip Pepper; one daughter, Mary Saunders; one granddaughter, Pamela Clark; five brothers; and two sisters.
Services were held June 24, in the Clary Chapel with Bro. Don Tabor and Bro. David Roberts officiating. Interment followed in the Field Creek Cemetery under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home, Thayer, Mo.
