THAYER -- A Thayer dentist who wants to give back to his community, is offering a deal that would be hard to refuse.
Dentist Gary Lack will be giving away two sets of dentures free, every month, as long as he can afford it.
"In appreciation of 41 wonderful years of practicing dentistry in Thayer, I am showing my appreciation by giving away two sets of dentures each month to people in need," Lack said July 1.
Lack said this is not just for the residents of Thayer or people who live in Missouri. "This is not just for senior citizens. It is for anyone of any age that lives anywhere," he said.
The only stipulations to qualifying for the dentures is that there can be no need for teeth to be extracted and no surgery involved.
He said the Thayer Fun and Friends Board of Directors will make the decision concerning who gets the dentures.
Fun and Friends Director Sheila Smith said to qualify for consideration for the dentures, a brief letter stating the situation and where a person can be contacted needs to be sent to: Fun and Friends Senior Center, P.O. Box 222, Thayer, M0., 65791, attn.: DENTURES.
"Once the letters are received our board of directors, including myself and assistant director Sue Scott, will review the letters and select two people each month to receive free sets of dentures," Smith said.
Smith said she wants to make sure that people understand because the Fun and Friends Board of Directors is making the selection, the person selected does not have to be a senior citizen. "Dr. Lack said he wanted us to make the selection because he knew we were in contact with a great number of people and saw a lot of people who are in need.
She said after the selections are made, Fun and Friends will contact the people selected and appointments can be made with Dr. Lack.
